Influential Latinas in Wisconsin are on the rise as business owners and professionals, in politics and as community leaders. The HCCW salutes all enterprising and determined Latinas who inspire, enrich and empower our lives and community. They are genuine role models for a new generation of accomplished Latinas.
Our growing professional numbers reflect the living testament of Latinas who came before us, paving the way, mentoring and encouraging. The legacies of our “abuelitas, madres y hermanas” serve as a beacon for all of us who embrace strong family and religious values,
concern for community and a strong desire to maintain cultural identities, traditions and language.
The HCCW is proud to continue its tradition of celebrating accomplished Hispanic women and addressing issues relevant to upward mobility. You are cordially invited to join us at the:
18th Annual Salute to Hispanic Women Conference & Luncheon
LATINA LEADERSHIP
Knowing, Going and Showing the Way
Saturday, May 13, 2006
Hilton Milwaukee City Center
509 West Wisconsin Avenue
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
The 9 am morning conference provides a supportive setting for women to interact with peers, hear meaningful presentations designed to stimulate candid discussion and offers access to valuable resources. The noon luncheon celebrates accomplished Hispanic women who have risen above barriers; triumphed over struggles and obstacles; and who eagerly share their life experiences with other Latinas.
Among this year’s accomplished women we have the honor of welcoming Veronica Villafañe, a Latina of national prominence. A motivated Latina who knows, goes and shows the way of Latina leadership. Veronica has agreed to participate in both the morning conference and as the noon luncheon key-note speaker.
Veronica Villafañe is a TV anchor and producer for the San Jose, CA Mercury News and also for Telemundo 48. She has worked at the local, national and international levels in both English and Spanish language media such as Univision, Telemundo and CNN en español. A journalism graduate of the Universidad Del Salvador in Argentina, Veronica was elected Board President of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) in August of 2004.
Veronica will share her life experiences, accomplishments and influential direction. She will most assuredly inspire, motivate and celebrate the established and emerging leadership of Wisconsin’s Hispanic women.
A popular event with Wisconsin’s Hispanic women, the Salute outreaches to our younger Hispanics, elected officials, small business and corporate sectors along with the general public.
Join us!
¡Adelante! Mujeres Hispanas
Forward, Hispanic Women!
