    HCCW Newsletter - July 2005 Print E-mail
    01 Jul 2005
We are looking forward with great anticipation and excitement the mid July opening of the spectacular HCCW headquarters at 1021 W. National Avenue. Our new headquarters, we will strengthen the programs already in place and have the adequate space to expand our workshops and seminars for business development and growth. The HCCW continues to seek your financial support. Your financial support is a tremendous endorsement of what we have realized and fuels our growing confidence in our ability to continue our accomplished presence as a community anchor. Moreover, your contribution is an investment in the strength and long-term stability of our neighborhood. Please consider a donation ~ a well placed investment.

Wisconsin Hispanic energy is what the HCCW wants conventioneers to experience when they attend the 2005 USHCC National Convention & Business Expo, September 14th-17th, 2005 at the Midwest Airlines Center. Landing this convention was not an easy task, what with the fierce competition and with the odds stacked against us. As has been our custom, the difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. We prevailed in magnificent fashion to accomplish the difficult and perform the impossible by bringing the expo and convention to Milwaukee.

Thousands of business owners, professionals, government officials, and visiting dignitaries from across the country, Mexico and Puerto Rico will transform the face of Milwaukee into a glorious Hispanic panorama. Pumping millions of dollars into Milwaukee’s local economy, they will help to celebrate the emergence of the Hispanic population, its influence, overall impact both locally and nationally and of course assist efforts of Hispanic upward mobility.

During the convention the HCCW will host the “LatinPalooza” on Thursday, September 15th featuring a major entertainment act, fireworks, food, and other Hispanic entertainment. All proceeds from the event will benefit and further the mission of the HCCW. “LatinPalooza” will be held at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts-Peck Pavilion.

To commemorate Mexican Independence Day and celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, the “Salute to Hispanic Heritage” parade will pay tribute to numerous Spanish-speaking countries. The parade will take place on Wisconsin Avenue at 9am on Saturday, September 17th .

Immediately following the parade, the public is cordially invited to attend the convention’s business expo at the Midwest Airlines Center, free of charge.

Occurring during the convention, the Small Business Administration (SBA) will bring unique procurement opportunities to budding and established entrepreneurs in the Midwestern U.S. with a national Business Matchmaking event. This September 14th event will connect 1,000 small-business owners throughout Wisconsin and nearby states with 200 procurement representatives of major corporations along with federal, state, and local agencies.

In addition to these landmark events, the 2005 Hispanic World Softball Championship is scheduled from Thursday, September 15th to Sunday, September 18th. The female competitors will play at Helfaer Field- Miller Park, and the males will compete at Wilson Park.

The red carpet will be rolled out. Thousands will arrive in Milwaukee as visitors and will definitely leave feeling part of our familia!

Hang on to your sombreros! These are unprecedented times in the history of the HCCW.

    Adelante Juntos,
