By now you all have received our "HCCW Building Fund Campaign" letter. We have embarked on an exciting and formidable historic commitment. Our $2 million facility will create a permanent and symbolic center for the Hispanic business community and most assuredly act as a catalyst to the renaissance efforts of our urban neighborhood.
From day one I have advocated that our facility would be WITH, BY and FOR the community. Forget minority goals and quotas. We are committed to building our facility with as much participation of our Hispanic contractor and service provider membership base as possible.
Eppstein & Uhen Architects and Barrientos Design & Consulting have applied their great expertise to design a beautiful and functional facility. Four construction firms made the final cut in our search for the general contractor award. After a lengthy interview session of all four firms, the HCCW Building Committee selected The Jansen Group.
Committee members felt that The Jansen Group best shared our priorities of:
- Maximizing Hispanic contractor involvement
- Creating a competitive environment where emerging business could succeed
- Providing emerging businesses with training and mentoring in administration and field resulting in meaningful business development and growth
- Establishing goals and commitment to hire Hispanic workers in all trade divisions
- Including an educational component that would encourage students to choose construction related careers and
- Establishing long-term contractor/service provider relationships with Hispanic firms
Together the new home of the HCCW, "Jewel on National Avenue," will be realized. Give our dream wings. Please consider making an investment.
Adelante Juntos,

Maria Monreal-Cameron
