You may have heard the buzz surrounding our plans to celebrate our 20th Gala in unforgettable
fashion. The Hispanic Social Event of the Year is fast approaching at its new venue which promises
to surpass every expectation! The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin (HCCW) 20th
Annual Gala is set for Saturday 23 January 2010 at the spectacular Expo Center at Potawatomi
Bingo Casino.
The 5 pm silent auction and cocktail / hors d’oeuvre reception initiate our annual signature gala. The
dinner/ program is scheduled for 7 pm. Festivities will conclude with dancing to Everardo y Su Flota Musical(Chicago). Last
year 900 supporters from all sectors- community, business, professional, corporate and government joined us in our annual
celebration of Hispanic business success and community progress.
Helping us to surpass expectations, we are absolutely thrilled to welcome as our keynote speaker Emmy Award Winning
ABC News Correspondent John Quiñones, co-anchor of Primetime, 20/20 and “What Would you Do?” John Quiñones
will share his personal experiences during his decades-long journalistic career along with insights he has gained as a
news magazine co-anchor. I guarantee that this will be a keynote address not to be missed! John Quiñones will most
assuredly make our 20th annual gala simply unforgettable!
This year’s theme “20 Unforgettable Years / 20 Años Inolvidables” aptly describes our remarkable 20-year record of effectively
promoting the interests of Wisconsin’s Hispanic and other small businesses; of fostering economic development; of
our commitment to educating future generations; and our prominent community presence. The same guiding principles of
dedication, determination, and discipline set years ago have endured as our standards.
Without a doubt we have come a long way and our powerful impact has resulted in impressive quantitative and qualitative
results. Yet we understand that ours is an on-going journey with much more to accomplish. The Hispanic community has
never been stronger and although we will encounter some uncharted waters, the future is bright and the path clear.
Formal invitations will be mailed during the latter part of December. The 2009 Year in Review found in this newsletter,
details some of the reasons for celebration! This event usually sells out so we encourage you to purchase advance tickets.
A significant portion of our budget is derived from this major fund raiser. With your support the HCCW will continue to make
