This year’s theme “Climbing the Mountain – Latina Style� encompassed many facets and we were indeed privileged to have the participation of honored guest, Maria Marin, a nationally acclaimed author, columnist and motivational speaker. Maria Marin not only inspired the luncheon crowd with her keynote address, she also energized in both Spanish and English conference sessions which also featured accomplished local Latina’s who shared their valuable perspectives.

As in years past, the Salute audience was positively resplendent with numerous accomplished women in attendance:

• Phenomenal women who have risen above barriers and triumphed over struggles and obstacles;
• Exceptional women who through their own merits have earned positions of influence and authority;
• Amazing women who freely share strengths and talents; channel knowledge, sensitivity and energies to better promote gender and ethnic upward mobility;
• Influential women that when taking a step forward on their journey recognize the importance of taking another woman with them;
• Unique women who have realized their full potential by daring to release culturally embedded norms;
• Determined women who leave footprints for others to follow;
• Remarkable women who carry responsibilities that often times would crush a lot of men.

A quote from poet Ntozake Shange states “Where there is a woman, there is magic.� Mis hermanas – Continue to work your magic. The best is yet to come!
