I am delighted to report that the May 11, 2013 Salute to Hispanic Women Conference & Luncheon “Latina Empowerment “was an outstanding success. Both the conference and luncheon segments generated rave reviews from the 290 attendees.
I wholeheartedly concur with those who shared complimentary remarks relating to the conference topic and keynote address. Both Brittney Morrett, LIBRE Initiative Project coordinator along with author, pundit, television personality and LIBRE Initiative National Spokesperson, Rachel Campos-Duffy helped to change attitudes, to motivate and to inspire. Their sharing of life experiences, accomplishments and influential direction prompted feelings of pride, confidence and optimism. Their participation will long be remembered!
On another note, we are looking forward to our annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon on June 12, 2013 at 11:30 in the lower level of UCC. Student after ambitious student has benefitted from the efforts of our small non-profit business organi-zation and that which our small independent scholarship program offers. Without a doubt the HCCW has changed the lives of numerous young Hispanics!
The upcoming award cycle represents a grand total of $597,240 awarded under the auspices of the HCCW Education Fund/Philip Arreola Scholarship Program (est.1993) The HCCW remains committed to continuing the important work of grooming the next generation of leaders who will make our community better and stronger. Be sure to attend!
